Everything, no matter how insignificant it may seem, exists to serve a greater purpose. A chair is a piece of furniture with a raised surface supported by legs and it is meant for people to seat on eat. The purpose of a car is to transport people from one place to another in much easier and efficient manner. Do you know your purpose in life? Are you living life on purpose?
Over the years, I have discovered that the men and women who have dared to make a difference in the world are those who were determined to live life on purpose. Throughout the history of mankind, individuals who willingly committed their lives to serve others speak volume about the impact of purposeful living. I was compelled to write this note today to challenge you about 8 reasons I believe that you should live your life on purpose. These reasons are based on my opinion, you may think of others as you read.
This list is designed to shine a spotlight on the most common denominators (reasons) that everyone of us possess and when understood they can help ensure your success. Read on and you’ll discover the reasons why you should live life on purpose:
1. You are here on Purpose for a Purpose:
You are not an accident and you were born for a purpose. If you are alive, you are here to accomplish a specific purpose.
2. You are gifted/talented for a purpose:
You have been blessed with unique abilities so that you can be a blessing to others.
3. Live on Purpose and you will reach your potential
You are full of potential. But you cannot fully tap into that reservoir of potential if you do not live life on purpose. Once you discover your purpose, it is vitally important to develop a growth plan. Everything starts with a seed, an idea, or a cause. That seed, idea, or cause will require a plan of action and a strategy (the coordination of resources), to secure an environment conducive for growth. You can only grow at the level that you most frequently expose and challenge your mind and your life. This is what I call a personal growth plan!
4. Visionary leaders know their purpose in life:
Viable visions are birth and come into fruition through leaders who live life on purpose. Having a clear vision is critically important if you ever want to live a life of purpose. Vision will require that you learn how to live in your own skin. Vision is where intend to go. Author and leadership expert Andy Stanley argues, “Everybody ends up somewhere in life. You can end up somewhere on purpose.” Being vision oriented is having a steady path, a road map or invisible trails to follow.
5. Your life matters:
You are unique and only you can be you. You can add value to others by living your life on purpose.
6. Life has no meaning without purpose:
What is it that you do that always ignite an innate sense of fulfillment inside of you? What is it that when you do it, exerts the highest level of excellence and is in your area of giftedness? Purpose is the reason for your existence. Believe it or not my friends, you can never find contentment in this life until you discover and begin to live a life of purpose.
7. Someone is watching you:
If you have been alive long enough, you realize that you are an example to others whether you like or not. People are watching you and what you do can have an influence on them.
8. Life is an Equal Opportunity Employer:
Some people are working hard to get a life, while others are living life on purpose. In other words, some people are barely enjoying life while others are living their lives fully while embracing their purpose in life successfully. Friends, you can either follow the trails of those who are having success or you can allow trials to stop you in your track. The choice is yours!
Living on purpose is possible! Just start by asking the right questions and reflect on your personal journey. Remember that it is never too late to start living a life of purpose!
