One of the things that I enjoy doing the most in this life, is to empower others to grow and maximize their potentials. I often say that we should “never underestimate the power of personal growth in shaping lives.” People and things in this life, often go through changes. However, the principles for personal growth remain the same. Here are a few things that I have discovered about personal growth that you may need to know.

“Personal growth does not happen in a vacuum, it demands a practical plan” William Valmyr

The Need for a Personal Growth Plan

There is a common belief that leaders are born with special gifts. While that may be true in some cases, we all have the potential to lead. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to shine a light on the leadership qualities we already possess and then show us the path to success. The same thing goes for personal growth. Stagnation is simply not an option for total fulfillment in life. If you find yourself stock, perhaps you may need a personal growth plan to help you move to the next level.

What Today’s Leaders Need

Over the years, I have spent my career teaching, coaching or mentoring individuals from various sectors in society (including students of all ages, athletes, emerging leaders, educators, business professionals and religious leaders). I have learned as much from them as they have from me. I have also discovered that today’s leaders need to have a clear vision and a high emotional intelligence. They need to achieve a keen understanding of risk management and possess a firm grasp on what success looks like and how to achieve it. They must be creative and fair, and must exhibit both strength and humility while being opened to new ideas. I believe that every individual has the potential to develop their personal leadership profile based on these qualities.

Why Personal Growth?

I once read that “Successful leaders see the opportunities in every difficulty rather than the difficulty in every opportunity.” (Reed Markham, Associate Professor in communication at Daytona State College) Personal growth does not happen in vacuum. And it is not for the faint of heart and often emerges out of the obscurity of great personal crises! Friends, whatever you have gone through in life is potentially the tool that has been set up to transform you into the person that you were meant to become.

Irrefutable Principles

Times are changing, but leadership principles remain constant in this world. Rapid changes often cause anxiety in the hearts of men and women. Beloved, if you are anxious about life and uncertain about what the future holds, stop for a moment and realize that you need a road map, a blueprint for your life. A personal growth plan will help you craft a viable and practical personal vision for life.

Be A Winner

I do not know where you are right now in your journey. No matter what you have been through or are currently experiencing, you can be empowered to reach your leadership potential by embracing the transforming power of a personal growth plan. Take charge of your life and refocus your effort at winning in the game of life.

I have authored a book that explores the principles that you can apply to maximize your leadership potential and fully experience personal growth. I am convinced that it will be such a game-changer for so many and that it will empower you to chart the course of your life.
